Student Financial Aid at WMU can ease the process of financing your education. It all starts with filing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year.

Affordability may play a large part in your college selection process. That鈥檚 why it鈥檚 important to explore every opportunity for merit- and need-based aid available to you. From scholarships to grants to student loans, we can walk you through the types of financial aid and the entire process to help you get the financial support you need.

Happy Holidays! WMU Student Financial Aid and Bronco Express will be unavailable for the University鈥檚 holiday recess Monday, Dec. 23, 2024 through Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. Services will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. 

During this time, emails to Financial Aid will not be processed. Your email will be considered received as of Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 and will be processed within 7-10 business days. You may check the status of your account any time using . Financial Aid for the spring semester should begin to pay out to WMU student accounts after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025 assuming all requirements are met. 

Electronic refunds should begin to disburse beginning Monday, Jan. 6, 2024. Refund checks will be mailed beginning Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2024.
