The 30-credit-hour program gives you the foremost analysis skills needed to advance to leadership positions in 铿乶ance quickly. And our three concentrations allow you to customize your program to fit your goals. Choose from corporate financial planning and analysis, securities and markets, or data analytics in finance.

Selecting the correct M.S. for your career

The M.S. in Finance provides a variety of skills needed to excel in finance fields. Professionals must possess the ability to analyze and interpret financial data, make decisions as a result of data and drive organizational priorities.

WMU鈥檚 program offers three possible concentrations that lead to distinct career paths: corporate financial planning and analysis, securities and markets, or data analytics in finance. It's up to you to decide how to advance your career鈥攁nd if one of these concentrations is a fit for your future.

We strive to make earning your master鈥檚 in finance comfortably affordable. At Western, you can fund your graduate degree through federal aid, loans, scholarships, grants, research assistantships and more.

Fast track your higher learning with an accelerated degree

The Master of Science in Finance can be earned in one year for those who have an undergraduate business degree by enrolling in four courses in fall, four in spring and two in the summer semesters. In addition, the WMU Master of Business Administration can be earned by completing an additional 24 credit hours.

What are the requirements for graduate admissions to the M.S. in Finance program?

Our online graduate application system allows all students (domestic, international and readmission) to submit required information into one system. 

If you want to apply to the Master of Science in Finance program, you must have earned:

  • A total score of at least 1,150, which is the sum of the GMAT score and 200 times the GPA for the last 60 hours in an accredited undergraduate degree program.
  • A minimum GMAT score of 550. (Note: Recent scores of the GRE are acceptable. Equivalent GRE test scores can be used to meet minimum GMAT-score requirements and can be used in formula calculations for admission purposes. See  for information on conversion of a GRE score to a predicted GMAT score.)
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last 60 hours in an accredited undergraduate degree program.
