Jennifer Fiore, Ph.D., MT-BC, is an Associate Professor of Music Therapy at Western 麻豆传媒应用 University. She earned her bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in music education with an emphasis in music therapy from the University of Kansas. Fiore has been a board-certified music therapist since 2001, and has over 10 years of clinical experience in hospice working with both pediatric and adult patients and their families during the final moments of life, oncology, and older adults. While working in hospice, she established a clinical training site for music therapy practicum students and a university-affiliated music therapy internship program. Fiore has extensive experience supervising music therapy students in a variety of clinical practicum placements including: adult oncology, hospice, pediatrics, developmental disabilities, early childhood, older adults, rehabilitation, and outpatient mental health.
Fiore currently chairs the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Standards of Clinical Practice Committee, serving on the committee since 2016. She has also served as a Great Lakes Region Alternate Delegate to the AMTA Assembly of Delegates. Before moving to 麻豆传媒应用, she served on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Region of AMTA as 1st Vice President/Conference Coordinator, 2nd Vice President, and Secretary. She also served as a Midwest Region Delegate or Alternate Delegate to the AMTA Assembly of Delegates.
Fiore is a consistent presenter at the local, regional, and national level, and has served as an expert reviewer for multiple journals. Her research interests include stress and coping, hospice, bereavement, and oncology. Her research has been published in the Journal of Music Therapy, The Arts in Psychotherapy, OMEGA-Journal of Death and Dying, and Voices: A World Forum for Music Therapy. She also co-authored a hospice music therapy book chapter in 2018 for AMTA鈥檚 introductory text, Music Therapy: An Introduction to the Profession.
