A Trailblazing Talent

Core Service Section Manager and Assistant Vice President,

After earning his degree, Rob Nyhuis started a career with PNC Bank, completing their Leadership Development Program. A 鶹ýӦ native, he now lives in Texas after accepting a unique opportunity with PNC to help launch a new brick-and-mortar Care Center.

Nyhuis was awarded the college’s Trailblazer of the Year Award in 2016 as a student and has continued to blaze trails ever since. In his career, he’s advanced through several roles and now manages a team of over 100 front-line employees and eight leaders. He is a multi-year recipient of PNC’s Market All Star and Circle of Excellence awards, recognizing the top talent within the retail banking segment.

Nyhuis also serves as the chair of one of PNC’s employee, recognition, and inclusion committees—helping to provide new and innovative ways to bring diversity and inclusion to life and increase engagement through the new landscape COVID-19 has brought to the workplace. In January of 2022, he was appointed as the chair of the Customer Care Center Diversity and Inclusion Council, tasked with ensuring exceptional employee experiences for nearly 6,000 employees.

Favorite WMU Professor: “I simply can’t pick just one … Paula Eckert, Dr. Jim Eckert, Dr. JoAnn Atkin, Dr. Ann Veeck, Bob Samples … the list goes on. I attribute a lot of my undergraduate success to my first-year experience instructor Danielle Field and have many favorite Dean’s Office employment memories with Cyntia Dawson!”
