Nick Young, B.B.A.’12
Cannabis Specialist
CEO, Krystilion
Partner,
Nick Young knows cannabis. He has been at the forefront of budding businesses for years and found his niche in custom product development and brand creation for some of the largest cannabis retailers nationwide.
Young balances the art and science of his enterprises. As CEO of Krystilion, he and his team manage brand growth of CBD products for retailers, keeping exceptional quality and delivery top of mind. Young is also a partner at COMCO Wellness—a vertically integrated operation where the focus is on cannabis oil production and development. It is at COMCO that Young helped design and implement the Midwest’s largest cannabis distillery. Before making inroads into cannabis production, Young laid the groundwork for his career as a sales director at Trace3, where he led teams of engineers and set strategy on a national scale.
He credits his time in the sales and business marketing program at the Haworth College of Business for planting the seed of entrepreneurship. A first-generation college student who worked diligently to self-fund his ventures, he now gives back to WMU Haworth by mentoring multiple students in the sales and business marketing program with Dr. Jim Eckert, and sharing his industry expertise with Dr. Russell Zwanka for the food and consumer package goods marketing program.
Best Learning Experience at WMU: “One of the most impactful learning experiences I had was being a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. I was able to take advantage of leadership opportunities, learning what it meant to build and lead a team, and the professional development that happens with daily operations and conflict resolution in that environment. I still draw on those experiences with my team when we have a mission in mind. In addition, all of my business partners are connections I made in fraternity life at Western.”
