After an At-home Positive Test

WMU community members who take an at-home COVID-19 test and receive a positive result should follow the guidance provided by a primary care provider and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:  

  • Get ample rest, treat symptoms and : trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, inability to wake or stay awake, pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone. If any of those conditions exist, seek emergency care.
  • Consult the  for current recommendations for isolation and recovery
  • Seek emergency care if symptoms worsen or if breathing difficulty develops

Those with a positive at-home test result:

  • Do not need to report the result to the health center 
  • Do not need to schedule an appointment with a Sindecuse provider unless they are concerned about symptoms that don鈥檛 resolve with over-the-counter self-care after a 5-7 day period
