ANTH 4970 (Summer II 2020):
The Ethnoarchaeology of COVID-19: A Viral Snapshot
A collaborative effort involving the following individuals: Michael S. Nassaney, Courtney Bedrosian, Ariel Butler, Zachary Fagerlin, Payton Gagliardi, Joanne Jeya, Sarah Linkous, and Nikolajs Pone
When the 45th annual WMU archaeological field school was canceled this past summer due to COVID-19, WMU and Prof. Nassaney decided to provide students with an alternate ethnoarchaeological experience studying the pandemic. Using a rapid ethnographic approach, students collected data about peoples’ responses to the virus and presented their viral snapshots in a series of research posters. See what they learned here.
