Organizational Change Leadership Admissions
Requirements
One of the goals of the Organizational Change Leadership program is to create a learning community that promotes excellence in the practice of leading effective change in organizations. To form and sustain our community of students admitted to the OCL program, students must possess the following (the GRE is not required):
- A bachelor鈥檚 degree
- Minimum of 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale on all previous undergraduate or graduate work
- At least two years of relevant professional work experience
Each applicant is assessed as a whole person. No single criterion will be the determining factor in the admissions process.
Application Instructions
To be considered for the OCL program, the following documents are necessary to complete your application portfolio:
- Completed online application
- A current resume
- Three reference letters from professional supervisor and a faculty member if possible
- A statement of purpose essay (approximately 500 words) that introduces the student, their interests and motivations, summarizes their academic and professional career, and discusses the relevance of their recent and current activities to the OCL program
- An official transcript from the institution from which you received your bachelor degree is required, as well as a transcript from the institution(s) where any additional graduate level courses or degrees have been taken/completed. Applicants are not required to submit an official transcript of courses taken/completed at WMU.
The application does not require graduate test scores.
Application deadlines
We offer rolling admissions, which means that students can apply at any time and start their studies in the fall, spring or summer semesters.
OCL is for you
Even if you already have a master鈥檚 degree, and you鈥檙e looking to expand and deepen your knowledge in a way that helps you to advance business objectives and create immediate impacts in organizations, OCL is for you.
What you can expect after graduation
- Apply current best practices for leading and developing individuals, groups and organizations in an age of globalization
- Conduct organizational consulting engagements using established diagnostic models and current theory and research
- Debate theory and best practices in the knowledge areas of organizational change, organizational leadership, organizational culture, organizational learning, group dynamics and globalization
- Execute the role of the research-based practitioner, one who applies theory and research to organizational challenges using rigorous data collection and analysis protocols
