4+1 Graduate Program with Kalamazoo College

The Department of Political Science at Western 麻豆传媒应用 University is pleased to announce the creation of a 4+1 graduate program with the Department of Political Science at Kalamazoo College. As stated in this Cooperative Agreement between Western 麻豆传媒应用 University (WMU) and Kalamazoo College (KC), Kalamazoo College students may be able to transfer a maximum of six undergraduate credits (non-entry level) between KC and WMU for application toward a WMU master's degree in political science. Additionally, KC students may also be able to obtain from WMU a maximum of three graduate credits by examination based on advanced level coursework at KC. Combined, students may acquire a maximum of nine credits that can be applied toward a master's degree in political science from WMU.

Course Transfer

Up to six credit hours may be transferred to WMU from KC with the successful completion of any combination of the following courses with a grade of B or better:

POLS 375鈥揑nternational Political Economy
POLS 380鈥揇rugs, Democracy, and Human Rights
POLS/SEMN 406鈥揗ale Violence Against Women
POLS/SEMN 410鈥揊rom Social Movements to Non-Profits
POLS 490鈥揅ontemporary Behavior, Theory and Methodology

To receive up to three credits hours at WMU as graduate level equivalents, students from Kalamazoo College will be required to submit their final writing projects for POLS 593. WMU Department of Political Science faculty will determine the basis for evaluation and the awarding of the credit.
