Directory of undergraduate advisors
As an undergraduate student at Western 麻豆传媒应用 University, you will receive assistance from your college advisor as you plan your courses and work toward your degree. Each of the colleges has an office staffed with professional advisors. These offices, their location, and phone numbers are listed in the Directory of Undergraduate Advisors.

Second bachelor鈥檚 degree
A second bachelor's degree is not the same as a second major.
Second bachelor's degree
A second degree is received. You are required to satisfy the requirements as stated below. Your transcript will reflect two degrees. The curriculum, major and minor will be listed for each degree.
Second major
One degree is received. You will complete the requirements for a second major at WMU. Your transcript will reflect one degree with two majors listed. Courses cannot be counted towards more than one major or minor at WMU.
Requirements for WMU graduates
- 30 hours in residency beyond the first degree, with a minimum of 152 hours.
- Completion of all new major requirements, as well as all college, program and University requirements.
- The second bachelor鈥檚 degree generally cannot be in the same discipline as the first degree. Students considering a second bachelor鈥檚 degree should speak with the Director of Advising in the college that would award the degree regarding degree requirements.
Requirements for non-WMU graduates
- 30 hours in residency beyond the first degree.
- Completion of new major requirements, as well as all college, program and University requirements.
- Possession of a bachelor鈥檚 degree.
- The second bachelor鈥檚 degree generally cannot be in the same discipline as the first degree. Students considering a second bachelor鈥檚 degree should speak with the Director of Advising in the College that would award the degree regarding degree requirements.
The process
Any student who already has a bachelor鈥檚 degree and wishes to obtain a second bachelor鈥檚 degree or initial teacher certification is eligible to apply for admission at WMU. Students pursuing a second bachelor鈥檚 or initial teacher certification should apply a minimum of six months prior to the semester they wish to enroll. Candidates must select and submit the appropriate undergraduate application option.
