Events

In Army ROTC there is so much to learn and experience. You'll get a glimpse into military life long before committing. We host weekly opportunities where you can experience a day in the life of a cadet or you can meet the cadets and instructors by joining them for morning physical training. We also facilitate field training exercises and an annual summer camp for high school students at the Fort Custer Training Center in Battle Creek, 麻豆传媒应用.

And, you can always find our ROTC table at any WMU open house, admitted student event or new student orientation!

Discovery Day

You can experience cadet life by registering for an ROTC visit from 1 to 4:15 p.m., available on Wednesdays in Grand Rapids and Thursdays in Kalamazoo. During your visit you will:

  • Sit in on a first-year ROTC class.
  • Participate in a leadership lab.
  • Interact with current cadets, instructors, mentors and the scholarship and enrollment officer.

Please note that labs take place outdoors, so dress accordingly. Family members are welcome to view the class and lab.

If you would like to make your visit a full-day experience, be sure to also register for a WMU campus tour the same morning.

Morning physical training

Do you want to join current cadets for organized physical training? You'll feel like a member of the group as you are challenged and trained to the Army standard.

We meet from 6:20 to 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in the lobby of the Student Recreation Center. Please remember to dress appropriately for a workout.
