Grants
English as a Second Language (ESL) Pre-Service Teacher Scholarships of $13,000 (Multiple Available)
- $13,000 in tuition provided for students who enroll in the Elementary Education (Pre-K) and TESOL program or the MA TESOL Initial Certification program. Scholarships funded by U.S. Department of Education NPD grant for TESOL at WMU.
- Funding for books in TESOL classes provided (up to $450).
- Funding provided for ESL endorsement test fee (valued at $129).
- Accelerated Graduate Degree Program credit is available as an option for undergraduates who apply for this scholarship.
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview to determine final scholarship recipients.
- Applications from students from linguistically diverse backgrounds are encouraged, but you do not need to know another language fluently to apply for this opportunity.
Scholarship application instructions
The scholarship application window is December 1 through March 15 for the following academic year.

If you do not complete the FAFSA, you are still eligible to apply for consideration for scholarships without financial need criteria.

- Online graduate program 30 credit hours
- Graduates eligible for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó¦Óà Department of Education Reading Specialist Endorsement
