Classes and Programs

Western 麻豆传媒应用 University is committed to health. WMU benefits-eligible employees have access to both of its fitness centers, the Student Recreation Center or West Hills Athletic Club, as a taxable benefit. Western Wellness members may receive discounts on fees associated with some programs. In addition, the university sponsors various wellness events through the year that are open to all WMU employees.

Student Recreation Center (SRC)

Located on Main Campus

Our mission is to provide programs and facilities that prepare the University community for a positive, healthy, active life. The SRC staff is available to provide an orientation to the equipment or facilities, and memberships are available as a taxable benefit for benefits-eligible faculty and staff.

West Hills Athletic Club

Our mission is to help our members and guests achieve their health, fitness, and tennis goals in a welcoming atmosphere.

Express Workshops

Holtyn Wellness offers free Wellness Workshops for groups of six or more on several topics including stretching, sleep, cooking with local ingredients, smart snacking, emotional well-being and more. It is a perfect way to kick off a staff meeting or add value to your lunch hour. Some programs require 30 minutes, but many can be tailored to your time frame.

Transforming the Way We Gather

This workshop draws from Priya Parker's book "The Art of Gathering" where we will explore how we meet to give the most purpose and fulfillment to our time together.

This taste-testing workshop facilitated by Registered Dietitian, Gretchen Kauth and her aweosme dietetic student assistants, will highlight autumn-inspired recipes with fresh produce from the Gibbs House Farm.

Annual WMU Turkey Trot 5K

Run the race in person on Nov. 23 or virtually between Nov. 23-29. We have two registration options for you and your family. Those who participate in the virtual race will have the option to have their items shipped to them (participants will pay the shipping fee) or pick up your race add-ons at our Packet Pick-Up on Friday, Nov. 22. Regardless of what race option you choose, you can pick up your SWAG at our Packet Pick-Up on Nov. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the WMU Student Recreation Center - Indoor Tennis Courts.
