Parent/Family Orientation

Parent and Family Orientation runs concurrently with the student program and gives you the opportunity to hear from campus departments such as housing, dining, financial aid, career services, and more.

Student Success Services is committed to providing academic support programs that connect students to resources they may need to achieve their academic and personal goals. Attend this session to learn more about the Bronco Study Zone, Learning Assistants, Supplemental Instructors, Peer Navigators, and Peer Academic Success Coaching.

Career and Student Employment Services | WMU Signature

Learn about resources to help students find and secure on campus jobs, internships, part-time jobs, and full-time jobs after graduation. This session will introduce WMU’s job posting platform – Handshake – and other resources for career planning. Also learn about the different experiences all students should plan to participate in as part of laying a strong foundation for future careers and job searches.

Health Promotion and Education

Learn how we can work together to support your student’s well-being! We’ll discuss on-campus well-being education, student leadership opportunities, and resources focused on prevention and support. Topics include mental health, violence prevention, sexual health, substance use, and more.

Discuss how you can engage with and support your student as they settle into life at WMU.

Global Engagement and Study Abroad

Explore the world on campus, in the classroom and abroad! By attending events, enrolling in courses, studying abroad and more, students can earn Global Bronco, Global Explorer and Global Citizen status. Each status contains unique rewards, including scholarships for studying abroad on any of WMU’s 85 programs in over 30 countries. Ranging from a few weeks to an academic year, programs run year-round and all majors and minors are encouraged to participate.
